So I've been having trouble with my sinuses lately, due to a nasal polyp.  I've been doing research on said nasal polyps and due to my unemployed and uninsured state (the latter I hope to rectify next month when open enrollment comes around again), I wanted to avoid getting on more medication (already on two due to depression and high cholesterol) and surgery.  Plus, both those things only treat the polyp not the underlining cause of the polyp (irritation/inflammation in the nasal passages) and polyps have a habit of coming back (especially after surgery).

I already started using saline sprays, which does help a lot, but I wanted to try to get rid of the damn thing completely.  We're already doing things to help lessen the amount of irritants in the house (soon we'll be having our living room carpet replaced:  it needed to be replaced anyway): I started using one of those dust masks when doing anything that may involve kicking up dust as well.  Some things are diet related though, so I was looking up on that.

Eating more fruits and veggies ain't going to happen...as I can't stand either the taste, texture, or both of most of them.  However, there was something about eating raw garlic:  I love garlic, so I'd thought I'd give it a shot.  Thinking ahead, I only got two whole 'bulbs' (it was the smallest amount we could find), as there was no guarantee I could eat the stuff raw.  I'm supposed to chop enough of the cloves to fill a teaspoon...I couldn't  even eat half a teaspoon.  Not because of the taste or texture...but just how STRONG that stuff was!  It was so strong it felt like it was burning my mouth a bit (though maybe I wasn't supposed to chew it?  not like I can swallow it like that...seeing I can't even swallow pills....).  Worse, the whole house now reeks of raw garlic! XD

Yeah...so all our doors and windows are open, AC is going...incense is burning.  Yeah...not trying this again.

Unexpected bonus:  won't have to worry about my brother bugging me for a day or two.  Or vampires.  Maybe my brother is a vampire?

Silver linings, ya know ;)
