...and in with the new.
You probably remember the car trouble I had earlier this year. Well, we still had issues with it (namely, the gauge system we just had replaced started wonking out) and my dad suggested not to dump more money into it, since due to it's age, parts are just going to get harder and harder to get. Well, I had said before that when it was time to replace my Neon, I wanted to get a Smartcar and here she is.
It's something to get used to, well, the transmission type that is. It's a 'smart transmission', meaning it's both a manual and an automatic at the same time: the clutch is fully electronic, which means no extra pedal to fight with! There is a bit of a 'jerk' (for lack of a better word) when it switches gears in automatic mode, but that can be managed by easing up the gas a little (like, I believe, you have to with a 'true' manual). With practice I'll get the hang of it.
Other major differences is that the ignition slot is down by the stick, not on the steering wheel column...and it's premium gas only (but at 36 mpg, we can live with that!).
